The New Zealand-German Energy Dialogue in 2025 focused on industrial decarbonisation and energy efficiency, with a particular emphasis on the dairy sector.

Industrial decarbonisation takes centre stage

To inform New Zealand stakeholders about developments and opportunities in Germany, the partnership and the New Zealand-German Chamber of Commerce (AHK) presented a study on the potential for cooperation in industrial decarbonisation at a conference in Christchurch.

A digital workshop brought together representatives from the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA), Everllence (formerly MAN Energy Solutions), ENCORE Efficiency, the Dairy Companies Association of New Zealand (DCANZ), and dairy companies Miraka, Synlait and Fonterra to discuss energy efficiency and electrification in dairy processing.

Recognising excellence in energy cooperation

On 1 May, adelphi presented the Energy Dialogue Impact Award 2025 at a ceremony hosted by AHK New Zealand. Aquila Clean Energy Asia Pacific (APAC) – an energy platform that funds, develops and operates clean energy assets – received the award for its work in renewable energy. MAN Energy Solutions / Everllence was recognised for innovative decarbonisation projects implemented with New Zealand partners.

Looking ahead

In 2026, planned activities include a briefing on the New Zealand electricity market, as well as digital sessions on New Zealand’s renewable energy potential for German companies.
